The short term effects of high blood pressure are increased sensitivity, and a pounding/ringing sensation in the head. This can also cause headaches and other similar maladies. Also, you will feel increased pain if you hang upside down, or do anything else that brings extra blood flow to the head. The long term effects are far more severe. High blood pressure can cause unnecessary turgor on the organs and tissues. This kind of stress can weaken them and occasionally causes ruptures. The negative effects of high blood pressure can be most strongly felt in places like the kidneys where the thickening of the blood vessels causes the kidneys to filter less fluid, leaving more waste in the blood. Any rupturing of blood vessels in the eyes may cause blindness and rupturing in the brain may cause stroke.
