No not at all. do not worry about your dad, even if he loses his job he probably belongs to a union and he can work on his own. There are lots of opportunities for professional truck drivers.

no. they cant fire you for health reasons. it shouldnt interfear with his job. actually they cant even find out until he tells them.its called a hippa law. they have to find him another job or he has to take medication to control it. im a nurse and blood pressure shouldnt interfear with driving a truck.

He should check his company handbook. His job may “require” good health. What if he had a stroke, due to his high blood pressure, while driving. He could be a risk for the company.

he might get fired but he can file a lawsuit for them firing him due to a “disability”

Yes he can be “disqualified” from his CDL license, but chances are very good he can control his BP by medication…
    Fed Reg 391.41:
No current diagnosis of high blood pressure likely to interfere with driving a motor vehicle. (159/89 maximum)
The Federal Government DOT (Department of Transportation) regulates truck driver qualifications, not a union. All commercial truck drivers must pass a DOT physical:
A DOT physical exam is valid for up to 24 months. The medical examiner may also issue a medical examiner’s certificate for less than 24 months when it is desirable to monitor a condition, such as high blood pressure.
