Is high blood pressure related to an earlier delivery?

?Me asked:

I have high blood pressure and am on bedrest for the rest of the pregnancy. I’ve heard that sometimes the baby will come early or the doctors will induce labor earlier than the due date. Is this true?
I’m doing the 24hr urine thing for the 2nd time already.

If it does not resolve or if it gets worse it becomes pre-eclampsia. The only cure for this is delivery. If they don’t do this it can become clampsia and you’ll have a stroke. I work with a few premature babies who were born because the mom needed to have a C-section because their mom’s blood pressure was too high.

yes, high blood pressure can be a sign of preeclampsi. They will make you test your urine (collect it for 24 hours or whatever) and if they find protien in it, they could be forced to induce. I was pregnant with twins, and got preeclampsia at 31 weeks, they induced and we had a 2lb baby and a 4lb baby. They are both fine, luckily they were breathing on their own at that point. Just small. Good luck!

    Hi,
I had high blood pressure with my 2ND baby, probably with my 1st too but was never told, but if it is high my doctor induced my labor 2 weeks early. Good Luck and try to stay calm
