try losing weight as this will help tremendously,
yoga & meditation will help in too many ways to list, obviously neither of you have tried it,
better late then never you have no idea what you are missing out on, it is good for everything. I would suggest that you join a class & do it together, otherwise you can get a dvd & do it @ home- a really good one to start with is- simply yoga by Yolanda Pettinato, she is about 55 yrs young & so calming & beautiful..if she can do it then you guys have no excuse….
    enjoy!!!!

If your family physician prescibes you Hypertension medication to take, by all means take it daily. Might need to be on a water pill, as well for blood pressure. Yes, Mindfulness Meditation most definately
will provide you with the training you need to lower your blood pressure too.
Here is a FREE book, online you can read
and study about to learn how to practice Mindfulness Meditation:

Thank You for giving me the opportunity to provide you with an answer to your most excellent question.

First, get a good checkup and make sure there’s nothing else going on. A blackout such as that is unlikely due to just high blood pressure. There could be something serious causing both the blackout and the hbp and it needs immediate attention.
If it, hopefully, turns out to be just hypertension then the prospects are very good. However, don’t rely entirely on yoga and meditation. I’ve worked with hypertension and natural health for years and I highly recommend these practices – BUT, they are not enough on their own. Lower blood pressure with these methods is often very temporary.
The method I recommend combines the meditative aspects with slow breathing and music. This is similar but not the same as yoga. Slow breathing is designed especially to lower blood pressure and it’s clinically proven. I’ve seen results superior to drugs in many cases and of course there’s no side effects.
It works fast and it’s inexpensive or even free if you learn on your own. You can get free instructions and an online demo at the webpage listed below.
There’s nothing else like it. I urge you and your husband to try this.
