Can energy pills cause high blood pressure?

My boyfriend takes a lot of energy pills, not ephedra, he takes them before his workouts and when he is tired. His blood pressure has been high and he says that he has been dizzy, not all the time, but when he stands up too quickly, or is looking up. Can those pills cause high blood pressure?

That is a seriously high bp! He is greatly at risk for a heart attack or stroke with that bp! Does he know that! I know that for sure, so tell him! Yes those things are bad for you. Make him stop now and get in to a doctor for this now! Blood pressure is nothing to play around with. That is why they call it the silent killer. Because nobody goes to the doc’s soon enough for it. MAKE him go!

high blood pressure
Yes, they can cause alot of problems….high bp is one of them. They can also dehydrate the body, constrict blood vessels, cause heart trouble, stroke,etc. If he’s taking them before a workout his diet is not working. If you’re tired you don’t take something for energy..you’re just fooling yourself. Get w/a nutrition expert and adjust your diet. And get some sleep.
