38 weeks and 3 days pregnant with high blood pressure?
Bec asked:
I went to the doctor the other day and she told me I have high blood pressure. I have been doing non stress tests every day since then… the results always being the same… still high blood pressure. The doctor put me on bed rest because when I lay down it goes down, but as soon as I sit up it shoots up again. Will the doctor induce me or will I be on bed rest till I go into labor on my own?

high blood pressure
If you pressure stays up they will probably induce you because you having high blood pressure isn’t good you or the baby….I have to go the doctor every week for a fetal assessment to make sure the baby is growing (37 weeks with high blood pressure) and I’m on medicine for it but they said if they don’t like what they see and it keeps going up they will not let me go home. Good luck

Depends on how high your bp is. My doctor will not induce me unless it goes above 160/100 and they can’t get it down with bedrest. It stays in the 140s/80s right now.
I think they like to wait until 39 weeks before inducing you. She’ll probably try to hold out a few more days.
Also, if one of your urine tests shows that you develop preeclampsia, they’ll probably throw the towel in and induce you.

im not quite sure.. im 34 weeks pregnant and i have high blood pressure as well,
mine right now is 130 or higher, before it was 116! then it went to 127 and now its 130s
He said hes keeping an eye on it [my doc] and im not aloud fried foods or anything with high sodium.
I was told having high blood pressure can cause early labor
and im sure you know about preeclampsia so… yeah keep your feet up definitely, no one will know
what will happen, you can still go into natural labor during bed rest,
and if he/she feels like you need to be induced then possibly yes..
I would ask the doctor that question..

you have every right to refuse any medical interferences. I am in the same spot. My blood pressure isn’t too high and the non- stress test went well. When I lay down my B/P goes back to normal. my doctor told me to just take it easy and rest when I can. Not bed rest, no induction needed, just doing moderate things and taking it easy. I have found now that I am not walking laps or going on major hikes for family fun, I am feeling much better. I think I was overexerting myself.
Induction may lead to C-section if it fails keep that in mind. Do a lot of talking to your doctor about what you want for your baby and labor.

Hmmm hard to say… I would personally say doc may induce you early because it may affect you during giving birth and affects the baby. I was induce early because i had preeclampsia (high blood pressure) and cholestasis. Its better for you to induce now, baby is now full-term babies lungs are develope
